Who are the Friends of Malew Church?
We are an independent conservation charity. We are not part of any religious denomination. Our aim is to preserve one of the Island’s most important historic buildings, Malew Church, at Church Bends on the Southern Hundred course north of Castletown.

What do we do?
We have started to organise the repair and restoration of the church, including removing damage done during the 20th century.

We have commissioned Bryan Kneale’s Illiam Dhone, perhaps one of the most significant works of art installed in a church in Britain in recent centuries.

We keep the church open for visitors, and we have produced a guidebook.

We hold tours of the churchyard, and we arrange one exclusive visit each year for our members to a place of interest on the Island not normally accessible to the public.

We hope to be able to organise more concerts and other performances at the church.

we need help – donations are always welcome (and as we are
a charity you can get tax relief) -  and if you are interested in historic buildings, in art, in architecture, or in  the history of our Island, why not join the Friends of Malew Church?
